        Superintendent Ron Costa

Ron has had the opportunity to serve as Superintendent of the Escalon Unified School District since 2010. Prior to serving as Superintendent, Ron served as an Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services, Chief Business Official, Director of Secondary Education, Principal, Assistant Principal, and most importantly, as a teacher. During his educational career, Ron has been involved at all levels of the educational system from Transitional Kindergarten through the university level. Ron strongly believes in being proactive – providing students the services to meet their needs instead of providing remediation when students are performing below standard and struggling. This belief is the basis for our district mission statement, “We will insure that all students learn at high levels.”

Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year

 Dear EUSD Community,

I would like to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year.  Last school year, we lived through a time of increasing uncertainty as we have collectively worked to educate our students while dealing with the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic.   All of our students started the school year distance learning due to state regulations. Because our district and staff knew that in-person learning is essential for most students, our district began reopening our schools to in-person learning in October. From November through spring break, all of our schools were open for in-person learning 4 days per week and after spring break we transitioned to 5-day per week in-person instruction.

For the 2021-2022 school year, we will continue to focus on in-person instruction for students while maintaining our priority on student and staff safety. Our district will continue to follow the safety regulations from our local and state public health officers to ensure that our schools remain safe for all. Additionally, we will be providing a variety of educational options for our students to help mitigate student learning loss due to the pandemic. We offered a two-week Jump Start program just prior to school opening that assisted students to prepare for the new school year. Also, we are planning a variety of student supports throughout the school year taking place both during and after the school day.

Escalon Unified School District (EUSD) has a long and proud tradition of excellence in education and we continue to work hard to ensure that, as our District Mission states, all students learn at high levels. I am proud and honored to work alongside EUSD employees who work diligently to ensure student safety and make learning a priority. Our Board of Trustees is committed to high quality instruction as well as providing our students with a variety of safe options that will ensure that they are truly college and career ready upon graduation from Escalon Unified.

Escalon Unified School District staff remains committed to our purpose: We will ensure that all students learn at high levels. We will do everything in our power to provide current students with the essential services they need to safely learn and graduate while maintaining fiscal solvency for our future students.

Thank you for your continued support of EUSD. The entire staff of the Escalon Unified School District looks forward to partnering with our community in the upcoming school year to prepare the Escalon Unified School District students to be our successful, responsible leaders of the future.
