Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year
Dear EUSD Community,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! It is with great excitement that we begin another year filled with opportunities for growth, learning, and collaboration. We are eager to continue our partnership with you in supporting your child’s educational journey.
Escalon Unified School District remains committed to offering diverse and high-quality educational programs to meet the unique needs of our students and families. These include Gateway Charter Academy—our renowned home school program, the Dual Language Immersion Program following a 90/10 model, and seven robust career and technical education pathways at Escalon High School spanning two industry sectors. We believe these comprehensive offerings provide meaningful and enriching learning experiences for all students.
As we move into the new school year, our focus stays firmly on student success. Our Professional Learning Communities (PLC) will continue to center their work around student achievement. Teachers will implement guaranteed academic standards, and we will ensure access to both targeted interventions and enrichment programs based on individual student needs. Notably, our high school science team will begin full implementation of our newly adopted curriculum-STEMscopes.
District-wide, our continued collaboration with the San Joaquin County Office of Education will bring valuable professional development opportunities—particularly in mathematics—to our staff, supporting them with evidence-based instructional practices. The district will also begin universal reading screenings in grades K-2nd grade in order to better identify students in need of early literacy intervention. In addition, we remain committed to improving our school facilities within our available resources to provide safe, welcoming, and supportive learning environments.
EUSD has a proud history of educational excellence, and I am honored to work alongside dedicated educators and staff who prioritize student well-being and achievement. Our Board of Trustees remains steadfast in their commitment to rigorous instruction and ensuring our students graduate ready for both college and career.
We encourage you to review this handbook thoroughly and discuss its contents with your child(ren). It provides helpful information about our district policies, school expectations, and resources. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s school or the district office.
Our mission to serve and connect with every student continues to guide our work. We are devoted to providing all students with the tools and support they need to thrive—both now and in the future—while remaining fiscally responsible.
Thank you for your continued trust and support. We look forward to working together to make this school year a successful and enriching experience for all students.
Sincerely,
Ricardo “Ricky” Chavez Superintendent
