Kate grew up in a small farming community in Colusa County. She moved to Escalon in 2003 after she finished Modesto Junior College with a child development degree along with a dental assistant degree. She married her husband Everett Powell who grew up in Escalon School District. They have three children, one attends Van Allen Elementary, one attends El Portal and one attends EHS. She is an active member of the community along with working part-time in a dental office Kate began serving on the board in December 2014, succeeding Al Caton and is currently service as President. Mrs. Powell's current term is December 2022 - December 2026.

Representing Area 5 – Dent Urban   

Travis represents the Dent area and is a proud lifelong member of the Escalon community. Growing up in Escalon, he attended local schools and graduated from Escalon High School before continuing his education at Modesto Junior College. Travis is married to Kate, and together they have one child. Deeply rooted in both family and community, Travis carries forward a legacy of service, succeeding John Largen in representing Dent Urban. Committed to fostering excellence throughout the District, Travis' goal is to champion the success and well-being of every educator, staff member, and student. Travis is dedicated to strengthening the district across three key dimensions: educational quality, physical environment, and community connection. Mr. Cardoza's current term is October 2025 - December 2026.

Martha Coelho

Martha was born In Puebla, Mexico, she is a proud graduate of Escalon High School. Deeply rooted in her community, she embodies the values of dedication, hard work, and educational opportunity. 

Following high school , she attended Modesto Junior College, where she continued to pursue her passion for learning and community engagement. She is married to Joe, and together they have five daughters. Martha was elected to the Board in 2012, succeeding Mrs. Janai Stanton and is currently servicing as Vice President. Mrs. Coelho's current term December 2024 - December 2028.

Nick Caton

Nicholas Caton attended local schools and is a graduate from EHS. His wife Kimberly and four of six of their children are also EHS graduate with two younger children that are enrolled in the Dual Language Immersion Program in Escalon School District. An active community member who was raised in Escalon, Nick is employed as a local Realtor and an area farmer. He joined the Board of Trustees in December of 2016 succeeding Amy Bavaro in Area 3. Mr. Caton's current term is December 2020 - December 2028.

Sal Reyes

Sal Reyes is a native of Los Angeles, California, he is a proud graduate of Saint John Bosco High School. He went on to pursue higher education at Carrington College and Hawaii Pacific University. Sal is deeply rooting in family and community. He is married to Tonia, and together they have two daughters, both graduates of Escalon High School. His commitment to education and local engagement led him to join the Board of Trustees in December 2022, succeeding Richard Thompson. His current term runs through December 2026.

Brianne Coelho

Student Board Representative  2025-2026 

Breanne Coelho is a dedicated senior at Escalon High School, and is the current Vice President of the Associated Student Body (ASB). Outside of the classroom, she is involved in the Oakdale Saddle Club, and after high school, she plans to attend cosmetology school to pursue a career that combines creativity and helping others feel their best. As the Student Board Representative, she is committed to representing EHS students with energy, and care.
