Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year

Dear EUSD Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! We are excited to begin another year of learning, growth, and opportunity for every student in Escalon Unified School District. We look forward to partnering with you as we support your child's academic success, personal growth, and well-being.

At EUSD, we are committed to providing high-quality educational opportunities that meet the diverse needs and interests of our students and families. In addition to our traditional schooling options, our programs include Gateway Charter Academy, our well-established independent study program; our Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Program, which follows a 90/10 instructional model; and seven Career Technical Education pathways at Escalon High School representing two industry sectors. Together, our academic programs help prepare students for success in college, careers, and life.

This year, we will continue to focus on student achievement through the work of our Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). Our teachers will collaborate to ensure every student has access to high-quality instruction aligned with California's academic standards. We will also continue providing targeted interventions and enrichment opportunities so that every student receives the support and challenges they need to reach their full potential.

One exciting initiative this year is our districtwide Transitional Kindergarten through Grade 12 mathematics curriculum pilot. This process will help us identify high-quality instructional materials that align with the California State Board of Education's Mathematics Framework and best support student learning for years to come. We are also excited to share that our district has hired a dedicated elementary Art teacher, expanding students' access to high-quality arts instruction while strengthening program continuity and creating a seamless pathway for artistic learning from elementary school through high school. 

We value continuous learning for our staff. Through our ongoing partnership with the San Joaquin County Office of Education, our teachers and administrators will participate in professional learning focused on research-based instructional practices, with an emphasis on mathematics. At the same time, we remain committed to maintaining safe, welcoming, and supportive schools while making thoughtful improvements to our facilities within available resources.

EUSD has a long tradition of educational excellence, made possible by the dedication of our teachers, staff, families, and Board of Trustees. Together, we are committed to providing rigorous learning experiences while ensuring every student feels supported, valued, and prepared for future success.

Please take time to review this Student and Parent Handbook with your child. It contains important information about district policies, school expectations, student rights and responsibilities, and the many resources available to support your family throughout the school year. If you have questions, we encourage you to contact your child's school or the District Office.
