• The Board, Superintendent Costa along with Rick John, toured facilities before closed session.
  • Student Board Representative, Hailie Webster reported on events taking place at Escalon High School.
  • Superintendent Costa requested the board remove item 9.2 from the agenda. The CAASPP embargo has not been lifted, therefore performance data cannot be publicly disclosed. Student performance presentation will be back on the agenda as soon as the data is available.
  • Superintendent Costa informed the board the first minimum day of the 2018-2019 school year was August 29th, where teachers worked at their sites reviewing student data, determining what students know and what they need to know. PLC is going to take teachers on the path of improving instruction and “Learning for All” to new heights.
  • Superintendent Costa reported all new teachers, along with the two new administrators met with district coaches, Suzette and Jackie to review instructional expectations including learning objectives and checking for understanding.
  • Superintendent Costa gave each board member TVL League athletic passes for the 2018-2019 school year.
  • Site administrators reported events taking progress at each of their sites.
  • The board approved the Consent Agenda.
  • The board approved resolution 18-19-03, authorizing the Superintendent to apply for school bus grans funding from the California Energy Commission to replace old school buses.
  • The board approved the EHS overnight field trips for the 2018-2019 school year.
  • The board approved the updated EHS stipend assignments.
  • The board approved the EPMS band Disneyland trip.
  • The board adopted board policy revisions as presented at the previous board meeting.
  • The board thanked administration for their efforts in ensuring student safety, and also thanked everyone who attended the meeting and spoke during oral communication.
