• Student Board Representative, Hailie Webster was absent, Jessica Fernandez reported on events taking place at Escalon High School.
  • Superintendent Costa handed out written communication to the board from concerned neighbors regarding student parking, and a card from Trinity Church for Board Clerk, John Largent.
  • Superintendent Costa reported 20 staff members of both El Portal Middle School and Escalon High School returned from the PLC conference in Long Beach. On October 7th an additional 29 teachers and administrators will leave to Salt Lake City, Utah for a PLC Conference as well.
  • Superintendent Costa stated CAASPP scores have officially been released and Assistant Superintendent Ricardo Chavez will present them at the next board meeting.
  • School Administrators reported on events taking place at their sites.
  • The board approved the Consent Agenda.
  • Concerned parents approached the board during oral communications regarding the student parking in the surrounding neighborhoods.
  • The board approved the Citizens’ Oversight Committee Member.
  • The board approved the revised Escalon Unified school District Local School Wellness Policy.  
  • The board approved the Vista High School Single Plan for Student Achievement and Safety Plan.
  • The board approved a gift donation to Escalon High School
  • The board thanked community members who attended tonight’s board meeting, and thanked Mark Vos, Principal of El Portal Middle School and his staff for sharing their excitement on PLC.
