• Student Board Representative, Hailie Webster was absent, Scott Terpstra reported on events taking place at Escalon High School.
  • Superintendent Costa reported on period 3 attendance.
  • Superintendent Costa handed out written communication to the board from Wendy Merseth, Gateway Academy teacher and a county report on the results of the visit and review of Dent Elementary.
  • Superintendent Costa reported the district is continuing to improve communication with parents. An email and text to parents informing them of the monthly newsletter and giving them an opportunity to get on the mailing list. The district and school sites are developing norms and beginning the process to determine Guaranteed Standards. The CSBA conference is November 29 – December 1, in San Francisco. OPSC finished the audit and forwarded the documentation to their accounting department for release funds for the EHS modernization.
  • School Administrators reported on events taking place at their sites.
  • Peter Krumeich, City Councilman spoke during oral communications to the board. He would like to see the board work closely with the City of Escalon in the future.
  • The board approved the Consent Agenda.
  • The board approved entering into a contract with American Modular Systems (AMS) for three (3) DSA approved classroom buildings at Collegeville Elementary.
  • The board approved entering into a contract with American Modular Systems (AMS) for (2) DSA approved classroom buildings and (1) restroom building at Escalon Charter Academy.
  • The board approved gift donations to Escalon High School.
  • Assistant Superintendent Ricardo Chavez gave an update on CA Dashboard Local Indicators.
  • Superintendent Costa informed the board, on behalf of CSEA, the CSEA sunshine proposal for negotiations with Escalon Unified School District for 2018-2019.
  • A first reading was held for the proposed board policy revisions and reviewed revised administrative regulations.
  • The board congratulated Richard Thompson and Kate Powell for winning the board elections. They thanked Peter Krumeich for attending tonight’s meeting, for Ricardo Chavez’ information on the CA Dashboard Local Indicators and Jennifer Klopatek-Driscoll for her hard work with Gateway Academy.
