Mrs. Martha Coelho
Representing Area 4 – Dent Rural
Martha Coelho and her husband are proud parents of five daughters, three of which attend our school district. At the age of 15 she came to our district from Mexico City and graduated in 1996 from Escalon High School. After Escalon High she attended Modesto Junior College. She has lived in our community for over 20 years. Martha began serving on the board in December 2012, succeeding Janai Stanton and is currently serving as President.
Mrs. Kate Powell
Representing Area 2 – Farmington
Kate grew up in a small farming community in Colusa County. She moved to Escalon in 2003 after she finished Modesto Junior College with a child development degree along with a dental assistant degree. She married her husband Everett Powell who grew up in Escalon School District. They have three children, two of which attend Van Allen. She is an active member of the community along with working part-time in a dental office. Kate began serving on the board in December 2014, succeeding Al Caton and is currently serving as Vice President.
Mr. John Largent
Representing Area 5 – Dent Urban
John is a long-time member, having succeeded Bob Betti in 1981. He is a native son of the area. He attended local elementary schools and graduated from Escalon High School. John is self employed in area agricultural pursuits. John served a two-year term as Board President from December 2012 to December 2014 and is currently serving as Clerk.
Mr. Richard Thompson
Representing Area 1 – Collegeville
Richard attended local local elementary schools and graduated from Escalon High School. After Escalon High School, he continued his education, graduating from CSU Chico. He now resides on his family’s farm where he works with his father, Grant, farming a variety of crops. Richard began serving on the board in December 2010, succeeding Phil Brumley. Richard completed a two-year term as the Board President in December 2016.
Mr. Nick Caton
Representing Area 3 – Van Allen
Nicholas Caton attended local schools and is a graduate from EHS. His wife Kimberly and four of six of their children are also EHS graduates with two younger children that will soon be enrolled. An active community member who was raised in Escalon, Nick is employed as a local Realtor and an area farmer. He joined the Board of Trustees in December of 2016 succeeding Amy Bavaro in Area 3.
